Christina
Taylor-Green was born on September 11th to two loving parents, John and
Roxanna Green. Christina was a very smart
and strong young girl with a bright future. As a child she was always
interested in politics and was even elected to the student council at her elementary
school. Christina never let anything hold her back and tried to defy the odds
at every opportunity. She played on a baseball team and was the only girl. She
liked to sing on the church choir and still loves animals. Christina always
talked with her parents about wanting to go to Penn state and pursuing a career
that involved helping people less fortunate than herself. Her goals always
showed she was concerned with making her world a better place.
One afternoon, Christina went with her mother to a political event in hopes of getting her first glimpse into what life in politics would be like. Tragically, the speaker and several other bystanders were shot. As the gunman turned towards Christina, he stopped to reload his weapon and at that moment, a brave man in the crowd tackled him to the ground; no doubt saving Christina’s life.
Ever since that day, Christina worked hard to make her dreams a reality, by in fact attending Penn State and today serving proudly as a congresswoman for her home state. She vowed to spend the rest of her life protecting ordinary citizens who make a big difference; like the man who saved her life that day.
